Right about now it's 4.30 am in Tokyo and I am wide awake in my hotel room, watching BBC news and reading a magazine. And I'm hungry, but breakfast doesn't start until 6am so I have been eating kit kat's and almonds until it made me feel ill.
We went by way of Helsinki, with Finnair, making it my first time on Finnish soil as well as my second time travelling to Asia. What I keep on forgetting is that I hate long distance travels, although I love experiencing new places. Makes things difficult.
But we did make it here in the end. Unfortunately I didn't manage to sleep more than 5 minutes on the flight and ended up being delirious with lack of sleep by the time we collected our luggage at the Tokyo airport. And then it turned out we had a 1 hour drive to look forward to. I fell asleep as soon as the car left the airport, sunglasses on. When we got to the hotel I had one of the best showers of my life, and slept for 4 hours straight. Had some lunch/dinner at 5pm and went back to bed. Which is probably why I am awake this early. So, just the jet lag to beat and Tokyo to discover.
I'm Christine and I currently live in London with my husband where I do my best to go to as many restaurants as possible, bake, DIY and occasionally let my hair down and go to a museum. x
