So while before the engagement things seemed simple, and my very naïve mind thought getting a wedding together would be a piece of cake, now I look back and think of the bliss of not knowing. And we have only been engaged 5 weeks or so. But some brides plan a lot and far ahead and they book up venues for years in advance, so if we wanted to get going with a wedding planned for next year, it was time to find a venue, look at the guest list and make some minor decisions to get things going. It just felt a little …rushed. And while I can’t turn back time and have loved being engaged so far, I am just waiting for us to decide on a venue and a date and then we will take a mini wedding related break to focus on other things like work, friends, other interests. I have to try not to lose sight of all the other things I like to do although a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime-super-fun-event. I can’t wait!
But I am also REALLY looking forward to a couple of weeks down the line, venue booked and some decisions made, when I will get some wedding magazines, bring my inspirational notebook and coloured pens and go to the local coffee shop and write and draw all my crazy ideas while I sip a coffee and think of how FUN this wedding is going to be. And then go home and tell the fiancé what he has really signed on for.
