Back in 2010 there was a really popular restaurant in NYC, opened by a British woman, and they served burgers that were supposed to be the best. They also had a bit of a pub look about the place and no reservations, so you had to just show up and wait with a drink at the bar. The restaurant was The Spotted Pig and it's still going strong, about 5 years later. I only went once when I lived in NYC and tried their blue cheese burger with the most amazing matchstick rosemary and garlic fries, but the husband never got to try The Spotted Pig and he really wanted to know what it was all about.
We both went for the burger, of course, and I absolutely love, love, love the fries. The burger itself is meaty, succulent and really good. Maybe not the best burger I have ever had, but it is definitely very good, and the blue cheese makes it just a little bit more different than the average burger. The atmosphere is also pretty amazing, it's super dark lighting and there are little pigs everywhere, even pig fairy lights!
