I promise I do other things than eat, although if you read this blog, and haven't seen me in real life, it would be normal to assume that I am grossly overweight. Not just yet! But I am working on it. Back to the food, as usual. I am a very lucky gal, living in London, because people like to visit this city and I get to meet friends when they come over. One of my closest friends from the Norwegian equivalent of high school came over for a Christmas shopping/mom and sister time visit and yesterday we went to Caravan in Kings Cross to talk, and of course, eat. It is a restaurant after all. I can't remember how I came across Caravan, I just immediately thought of this place as somewhere we should go. We didn't book a table but were very lucky just to walk in and find space, this place is busy!
It's in an old grain shop, and I think they are well known for their good coffee. But they are also next door to Central St Martins, which could explain the cool crowd sipping trendy coffees, looking with dismay upon my coral sneakers paired with a grey wool sweater. It's cold people, I will gladly sacrifice style for comfort! The cold also made me go for a lamb tangine, which was a hearty dish perfect for winter, although where it is from I doubt they experience -4 degrees Celsius. The pizzas looked good too, if you are in that mood. The dessert menu appeared and tempted, paired with my lack of willpower the result was the sudden arrival of a caramel pot in front of me. And a glass of wine. Oooops. I guess these things happen. On a Wednesday.
I'm Christine and I currently live in London with my husband where I do my best to go to as many restaurants as possible, bake, DIY and occasionally let my hair down and go to a museum. x
