It's not exactly the welcome I got when I arrived at Gatwick on Sunday, but isn't it fantastic? I know it is an advert, but I just love how fun it looks, how surprised all the passengers are when they get into the arrivals hall and how amazing those singers are. If you haven't watched it, I suggest you do.
Last night I watched The Jonathan Ross Show and his musical guest was Bruno Mars who performed "When I was your man". And how many times have I listened to this song since? Too many to count.
Have you ever started listening to a song, immediately decided you din't like it, wanted to turn it on, forgotten it, and then suddenly finding yourself singing along? I thought so, it's not just me. Yesterday while watching the Brits Justin Timberlake came out of hiding and introduced me to Mirrors, which I hated and then loved. So much so that I downloaded it when the show was over and made the boyfriend go crazy while playing it over and over again. You gotta love JT, in his tux, rocking it. Give the song a chance, it only gets better the more you sit
This is one of my favourite songs and always gets me in a good mood. It is one of the main songs in Breakfast at Tiffany's, it might actually be the only one, and it is used in several ways throughout. I think my favourite part is when Audrey is playing her guitar and singing while sitting in her window.
A Tuesday pick me up, my absolute favourite song which is on repeat, much to the boyfriends dismay. Take Labrinths advice, "whatever you do, do it good". Happy Tuesday, only 3 more days until the weekend. We can do this!
One of my all time favourite songs is the above, the musical pearl that is Gina G (what ever happened to her?!?). I remember LOVING this song when I was younger, and also thinking the lyrics were a bit too raunchy for the 10 year old me (yes, it came out all the way back in 1996), but that might have been because I was far from fluent in English back in those days. And now, when listening to the song, I don't find it too raunchy at all and I am wondering if that is because we have had years and years of Rihanna, Britney and their crew.
Last night the boyfriend came across these guys and their take on several songs and we were both in awe that they could do so much with just a piano and their hands. I love when you can see how much work has gone into something and how great these guys are at what they do. Their Youtube channel is here.
It's so sad it isn't sad anymore, or at least that's what I choose to believe. Basically, I have spent the last 3 days in the gym listening to "We built this City" by Starship on repeat. I don't know why it appeals to me so much, but I guess I have a secret love for all things remotely 80's (It was released in 1985). For those who care to know, Blender magazine named this one of the 50 worst songs ever made, and I can honestly see why. But it still on repeat on my iPhone. Give them a chance, when I have this on in the gym I enjoy my workout so much more!
I'm Christine and I currently live in London with my husband where I do my best to go to as many restaurants as possible, bake, DIY and occasionally let my hair down and go to a museum. x
