On the long list of things we did not know about getting married was the need to register our intent to marry. I know I can be surprisingly naive sometimes, but I just assumed the church would a.do this for us and b.if we had to do it, they would let us know. Turns out we were very much in charge of registering our intent to marry with the council in the are you live in. Cue a 9am Sunday appointment at Brent Council in Wembley and a rather silly conversation which was really just us showing our passports, promising we weren't already married and paying a whoooooooping £35 per person. Just to be allowed to marry legally. Seems like a lot of money for a sorry slip of paper. So we "celebrated" by going for breakfast in West Hampstead at Mamacita. I have walked past so many times but never made it inside and to be honest it does look like a really great bar, but not a place to go for breakfast. I don't know how we ended up there as I can't remember who made the decision to go in (probably me) but we were well fed with some serious portions of breakfast burritos and delicious coffee. And our waiter was just so nice and friendly. So not the worst start to a Sunday, but not the best either.
I'm Christine and I currently live in London with my husband where I do my best to go to as many restaurants as possible, bake, DIY and occasionally let my hair down and go to a museum. x
