Sometimes it's difficult to find a restaurant exactly when you need it: imagine you are very hungry and you find yourself surrounded by McD's, Pret's and Burger King's. And there is nothing wrong with either of these, but they aren't places for a relaxed lunch and maybe even 3 courses. When friends and family visiting London they normally like to sit down for lunch and look at me with dismay if I suggest fast food. Anyways, there are of course tons of options, including several restaurant chains that I know don't have the best food and don't feel like going to (no need to mention names but some places, especially serving pizza, just aren't worth the visit). And then there are the restaurant chains that you should go to, but have never heard of. We stumbled over Black & Blue ages ago, when my mum was in town last time, starving, and thought the menu looked promising and the place worth a try.
We got some starters, it usually happens when you let hunger decide what you are eating, and salmon to follow. The shrimp were out of this world good, and the fried courgette very dangerous. We finished the starter and regretted ever ordering mains. 2 days later we were back. Same restaurant and menu, different location. We ordered the scampi again. And now that I am writing this, I would like to go back immediately and indulge in a very large portion of king prawn and buttery sauce.
I'm Christine and I currently live in London with my husband where I do my best to go to as many restaurants as possible, bake, DIY and occasionally let my hair down and go to a museum. x
