As we all know, there are several places in London to eat so there really shouldn’t be necessary to go back to a restaurant for a meal. But sometimes you come across these amazing places where you just HAVE to go back. For me Angeles in Kilburn is one of those, The Clifton Pub in St. Johns Wood/Kilburn is another and I have been thinking about BBG for a while. BBG stands for Brompton Bar and Grill and is on Brompton Road. It’s a modern bistro that has jazz evenings and offer great food from chef Gary Durrant. I went to BBG in January after going ice skating outside the Natural History Museum. Unfortunately that day had been a long one at work, led to a surprise ice skating session and a delicious dinner at BBG, all while I was feeling unwell. I ordered the fish stew, their signature dish, and loved it, but couldn’t even finish half as I was feeling so unwell. And that’s why this place has been on my mind for a couple of months. Finally we made it back and I had the chance to try the fish stew again, and it is still amazing. I had learned from my previous experience that the stew is extremely filling, and as the bread they serve is crispy and delicious, I stayed away from the starters and kept to the stew. And luckily, because they have a pretty spectacular chocolate pot on their dessert menu. We had to walk it all off after, it was that good.
