I'm definitely a DIY gal at heart, spending most evenings looking at projects on Pinterest or making something at home with more or less success. Sometimes it's a definite failure, but they say that's how you learn. Sometimes things also just work out well, like these leather catchall trays. It's hardy a DIY as it is just so incredibly easy to make them, but I think they would impress most people as gifts and they are also so incredibly useful around the house for all those little trinkets we all seem to have so many of.
To make these I had some leather scraps, a leather hole puncher (it's pretty heavy duty) and some gold and silver studs with screw backs. The leather was cut into the shapes I wanted and then I just punched two holes in each corner where the studs would go. Simply screw the two parts of the studs together to shape the leather into a "tray" shape and you are done with the DIY'ing. Almost too easy, don't you think? If you want to you can super glue the screw bits together, but it isn't necessary. I am toying with the idea of making a felt version and maybe even a really big one to hold yarn and knitting things. As you do. So far nothing is decided, but who knows, maybe one suddenly appears on this very blog?
Another work week has begun and after a week away on holiday, it's even harder to get back into the normal routine. I spent way too long this morning just talking myself into getting out of bed. Working from home is not always the best as there is no one there to tell you to get your bum in gear when you just don't want to. All credit to those people who are always on top of things, that's definitely not me. I'm currently typing away and contemplating what I can eat as a late lunch, before I will sort through the holiday pictures and drag myself out of the apartment to get to work later. Hope your Monday is good! x
Another Sunday, another dollar. Or something like that. I am in my PJ's (as usual at home...!), have just finished a dinner of toasted bread (too tired to cook) and CSI is on TV (hello, when isn't it??), life is pretty good. In a week today I will be chilling in Italy, and I can't wait! Holidays are good for the soul, I need a bit of rest to come back stronger and get on with world domination and other stuff like it. You know, the usual. Happy Sunday evening, here is to taking it easy and enjoy the little moments in life.
Maybe you are one of those people like I used to be, the ones that think that shower gel can be bought with your daily food shop and it doesn't really matter much what it is as long as you like the smell. Well, we are wrong. This guy is a game changer.
I have never experienced a better shower gel, the texture when it comes out of the bottle is like shaving foam, but more firm, and it smooth beautifully on to your body with a scent that smells like what I would expect heaven to smell like. Have you guessed that I really love this shower gel?
I'm already dreading when the bottle runs out, especially since the husband seems to have fallen in love with this shower gel too.
Ahhhh, Sunday night, I love you. It's been a bit quiet over here for a while, mostly because I have not been inspired to blog and also because life can get awfully busy at times. All creds to bloggers with full time jobs and time to blog. You don't know how much time it takes up until you try it.
A couple of weeks back I had my mum here in London, and we decided to have fun in my local area. So we went for coffees and lunch and walks around NW London, #lovelocal and all that. Although I actually love my local area, seeing as I work and live in NW.
Next week I plan on taking more time to get things done and not stress. Not say yes to things I can't manage, get to the gym 2 times (maybe even 3! eeeeek). Read a book and a magazine. Listen to podcasts I haven't been able to in the previous weeks. Cook a couple of meals and make jam. What are your plans??
I'm Christine and I currently live in London with my husband where I do my best to go to as many restaurants as possible, bake, DIY and occasionally let my hair down and go to a museum. x
