I have of course fallen in love with the idea of having giant, lit up letters in our living room. Disregarding the fact that our living room can hardly fit the couch and table that is already in there, where would I even put these things? No clue. I am sitting here, wondering how our neighbour will feel about "LOVE" spelled out in our shared hallway. I don't think I am going to find out. But if you have the space at home, and the cash to spend, just get these, for me.
Step one for the newly engaged: Get that venue booked. Some couples books years in advance, so for those of us who just got engaged and would like to get married next year, the hunt is on! We have spent the last two week ends looking at all the venues we have found, liked, and could afford. I am basically exhausted. Concentrating, calculating costs, weighing up the negatives and the positives and then finally deciding on the final top 3, it takes a lot of effort and brain power. My wish for Sunday: no plans except walking to the park and buying take away coffees and enjoying life.
This film has me beyond excited. Michael Douglas in a role I personally never thought he would go for, but luckily did. This looks like it's going to be film gold and I might even manage to drag myself to the cinema just because it looks that good!
This week I have still been in love with my engagement ring, wonder when/if that will change?
I have had way too many coffees, next week will be all about green tea!
It's all about BBQ chicken wings. No way back, baby.
Spring is here! Everything is better when the weather is good.
Forget about the bad mood, I'm over it. I have a smile on my face and the only reason is this trailer above. Yep, that would be Season 4 of Arrested Development. Many haven't seen this show, and of course, you have missed out and would be sitting there right now, reading this post, wondering why this makes me happy instantly. The reason is of course that the show is back! It was cancelled in 2006 and it was a bad time for us AD fans. But now, now we get our fix once again. It's just too good: the actors, the plot, the characters. I. AM. IN. LOVE. So what will I be doing on Sunday when it launches on Netflix?!? Watching it, silly. And you should too!
Today is not a very promising day. I woke up and just felt tired, and I still do. It's like my eyes want to close, and my body is still lingering in bed, even though I have been out of bed for hours. So, I need a bit of a cheering up. That is why I am sporting these socks today, pink flamingos just cant help but make me feel better, I have baked banana muffins and I have watched at least 1 hour of The Food Network. If only I could go back to bed and read a book instead of going to work and life would be pretty awesome. But not today.
If there is one thing I know it's that this stuff works. Woken up with a sore throat and feeling a little like a cold is coming? Get those vitamin C pills popping and make this:
Hot water + lemon juice + honey
You will not regret it. This week I have been waking up and feeling like something or someone died in my throat over night, and then one little cup of this later, and I am back in action. And my mum pointed out how great lemon is for detoxing and health. A glass of hot water with lemon in the morning, followed by lemon infused room tempered water throughout the day. Cut up some lemon and put in your water bottle, that way water won't be boring!
Is it seriously Wednesday today? Where did the past 2 days go?!? I feel like I have been missing out on 2 days and need to make this up, so of course I am going to work early. Maybe not exactly what I had in mind, but life usually gets in the way I find. So I am going to work today, but I am also spending a lot of time on Pinterest, finding inspiration for, oh you know, did I mention I was engaged? Yes the upcoming wedding, that is taking up most of my brain space lately. Maybe that's why I can't believe BOTH Monday and Tuesday have already been and gone this week. It's the wedding prep, it has to be. People booking their venues years in advance are making me a tiny bit stressed out, so while we are viewing and deciding on a venue, and a date, I am spending a lot of time looking at photos from other people's weddings and making secret plans for my own. There are some really amazing ideas out there just waiting to be found.
Normally coffee breaks don't happen every day around home, I am more of a tea person, but I find it hard to order tea if I am in a café or similar, it just seems like such a rip off charging for water and a bit of flavour. So then I opt for coffee, every time. Yesterday I had more coffee than I normally had in a whole week, and I think I might be having a slight coffee hangover today, if that even exists?! Anyways, normally I would go to a boring chain which you can find on every street corner, and in between, in this city. No offence, but it's always more fun to explore smaller and individual places. So, here you have one. This is the Attendant, and I didn't take many photos inside, mostly because the iPhone didn't do this place justice. What you need to know is that it is a converted Victorian toilet, perfect for those of you that have always dreamed of sipping your hot beverage or having lunch in a toilet, and it's really clean. No worries here. You also need to know that the coffee is very good, the food looks good (I didn't try because I basically came straight from lunch) and the place is beyond charming.
It's not exactly the welcome I got when I arrived at Gatwick on Sunday, but isn't it fantastic? I know it is an advert, but I just love how fun it looks, how surprised all the passengers are when they get into the arrivals hall and how amazing those singers are. If you haven't watched it, I suggest you do.
I'm Christine and I currently live in London with my husband where I do my best to go to as many restaurants as possible, bake, DIY and occasionally let my hair down and go to a museum. x
