These past 2 days have been the most hectic in a long time. After coming back from Barcelona on Sunday my first day back at work was the last day of the month which is a huge day for Gyms that have just a little bit longer to go before reaching the monthly target. Just made me want to go back to my week end in Barcelona.
Hello! It's been ages and the reason is that no matter how great Barcelona is, my brothers internet wasn't. So no blogging. But tons of sightseeing. If you plan on going to a city for a short trip and have never been before my best recommendation is to find the most tourist infected area and jump on the first guided tour bus you find. These buses usually offer day passes for a fairly reasonable amount, you can jump on and off when you want to and you get to see the whole city in the blink of an eye. Or maybe not, I spent all Friday on different buses and it did take all day to see Barcelona, with a lunch and some strolling in the old town thrown in.
Months and months ago I saw the Mugtail cup on Camillas blog and instantly fell in love, but Kinto that makes them is based in Asia and doesn't have a very helpful webpage when it comes to finding UK retailers. Then the other day I googled and up came 95% who ships to UK and has the whole range. Joy! I ordered only one, but I am feeling tempted to click home a couple more since they are so cute...
Although I am now back in London and have been for quite some time, there is still so much about Italy I am excited about and there are about 500 pictures from the trip that need a closer look-over to decide which get to sty alive and which should be forgotten. As you might have seen we went to Florence and Todi and stayed close by Orvieto in a rented apartment. And this place is really amazing, the view (just see above!) from the apartment is beyond and the size and comfort very much to my liking. More pictures and information here.
This week marks the first ever BBQ held at our house, and although the rain was mostly absent there was a slight drissle and a cold wind which left me piling on the layers and forcing wool socks into loafers. Not a great style decision. But there was a bucket full of Pimms, and when it's Pimms o'clock, you just have to be happy and get on with it, meaning eating as much grilled meat and sausages as one possibly can. Other higlights included some new iPhone covers, handmade coffees at work, a tiny bit of sunshine in between the rain and favourite leather things. Not a bad week all in all. Let's do it all again next week!
These might be things you don't really need, if we classify things we need as food, water, housing etc, however these are definitely things you should have, because if a cupcake thronestand doesn't cheer you up, what will? Maybe a gold cat moneybox for your change? Or an inspirational poster? Take your pick, all are from Urban Outfitters (why? Because they have tons of fun stuff for the home).
If you have read some of this blog before chances are you would know that I manage to eat my fair share of afternoon tea at various London hotels. The only reason for this is that i LOVE scones, really LOVE them, and I like the tea tradition that brits have made their own. Full disclosure, brits generally don't bring on the scones on a daily basis just because it's tea time, but many of them do have a small snack/meal around 4-5 ish. I still haven't managed to become full-on british in my ways but I do take any opportunity to have my afternoon tea. This time at Number Sixteen in South Kensington, my new absolute favourite hotel in the whole world. Why? It is so cute and small, and it has the most amazing garden, and the library/lounge has the coolest yellow chairs I have ever seen. Desperately looking for those chairs to add to my living room furniture for a bit of colour.
So, I want a dog. I have wanted one for months, even years and I just don't know if I can wait any longer. And today I checked out Boo on Facebook and well, he is just adorable. I am feeling the need to get a dog even more after seeing the super cute pictures, he is so fluffy! And cute! I might just have to get this Boo cudly toy from Urban Outfitters while I wait...
I'm Christine and I currently live in London with my husband where I do my best to go to as many restaurants as possible, bake, DIY and occasionally let my hair down and go to a museum. x
