A whole week of my life expressed in pictures of food. Totally normal? Maybe not. But here they are, starting with scrambled eggs and a most amazing coffee (above) at Allans right off Oxford Street. Then continuing with a selection of bread at Balans in Soho, which was followed by a falafel wrap which I started eating before remembering about the photo. Too hungry=no photo.
Last week end we had dinner in Chinatown. The atmosphere is never the most amazing, and it feels more like being put under a spot light than sitting in a restaurant, but the food is very good. And it's amazing value for money! We went to Lido, which is the only one in Chinatown I have tried, so I can't vouch for any other restaurants there.
One of my new favourite restaurants is in Kilburn and it's called Small & Beautiful. The beautiful thing with this place is the food is good, and the price is very low. Dinner for 2 for £15? Done.
Long days at work turns into dinner at my desk, not the most amazing meal of the week, but it will do when you are hungry. But a highlight was breakfast at Bill's in Soho and a HUGE portion of scrambled eggs, fresh juice and a very tasty croissant smothered in jam. Heaven.
And last, but not least, meeting a friend at Ca'ppucino in Kings Road yesterday. This is her favourite coffee place, and it is a very popular little restaurant. I have walked past many times without realising what kind of place it really is, they have a large lunch menu and I was sooooo tempted by the pasta dishes that were served on tables around us.
I'm Christine and I currently live in London with my husband where I do my best to go to as many restaurants as possible, bake, DIY and occasionally let my hair down and go to a museum. x
